LEED Statement
Burns Manufacturing products are manufactured with recycled steel, stainless steel and brass. The percentage of post-consumer and post-industrial recycled content is broken down as follows:
- Steel and Stainless Steel post-consumer recycled content is approximately 5%
- Steel post-industrial recycled content is approximately 25-40%
- Burns Manufacturing products average in the approximate 25% to 40% range of scrap or recycled material melted in the furnace.
- Stainless Steel post-industrial recycled content is approximately 75-80%
- Brass typically comprises 100% recycled material, which consists of scrap brass and/or scrap copper, with secondary refined zinc and lead cast from scrap metal and reclaimed by-products. The brass itself is 100% recyclable.
- Packaging recycled content is approximately 30%
These figures apply to most of our products, though they may vary slightly per shipment depending on the mill source.
